"Arnold: The Complete Collection Volume 1" out now
Martin, Tenn. 8/28/2023 – Smallbug Press is expanding their publishing output with the release of the first installment of the three-volume Arnold: The Complete Collection.
Arnold, a comic strip by Kevin McCormick, focuses on the bizarre antics of the titular character in junior high school, frequently bewildering his best friend, Tommy, and their teacher Mr. Lester. The strip ran from 1982 to 1988, appearing in newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Detroit Free Press, the Baltimore Sun, and more.
The strip maintained a cult following among teens and college students during its five-and-a-half year run, even inspiring a musical entitled Arnold: A New Cartoon Musical, written by R. Eugene Jackson and composed by David J. Blackburn, which was available through Pioneer Drama Service in 1986.
Arnold: The Complete Collection Volume 1 (ISBN 978-0-9989482-9-4) collects daily and Sunday comic strips from December 1982 to September 1984. The 238-page paperback is available for purchase on Amazon.
