JACKSON, Tenn. – The Ned R. McWherter West TN Cultural Arts Center’s Teen Theatre is holding auditions on Monday and Tuesday, November 25 and 26, for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime based on the novel of the same name by Marc Haddon. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play in 2013, Curious Incident will be directed by Will Burke.
Auditions will begin at 4 PM both days in the Old City Hall portion of the Ned. Perspective auditioners are encouraged to sign up on the Ned’s Website.
The production will play on the Ned Mainstage January 30 – Feb 1, 2025, with school matinee performances.
The Story: Fifteen-year-old Christopher Boone, a math prodigy with autism, is thrust into a mystery when he finds his neighbor’s dog, Wellington, killed with a pitch fork. Determined to solve the case despite his father’s objections, Christopher’s investigation becomes a life-changing journey, revealing hidden family secrets and testing his courage to step beyond his safe, structured world. The play captures Christopher’s unique perspective while also exploring his relationships with his parents and a compassionate school mentor.
