A Portrait of the Neighborhood: a Hands-On Art Party

Starting with the question of “Where are You From?” the Art Museum at the University of Memphis has been sponsoring a series of events focusing on the Lambuth Campus neighborhood. Working with the Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association (LANA), participants have been making paper models of their homes, and collaging memories together, using the arts to foster community.

The entire Jackson community is invited to participate in a variety of hands on art activities on Thursday, March 23rd. You can build your own little model house, or decorate a little wooden one, add a memory of your neighborhood, get a birds eye view, share in the history and help create a positive future for this vibrant Jackson area.
