Senator Jackson receives ACU Award for Conservative Excellence
NASHVILLE – State Senator Ed Jackson (R-Jackson) recently received the highest rating from the American Conservative Union Foundation (ACU). While the group recognizes lawmakers who score above 80 percent in each state to receive awards for their commitment to conservative principles, Jackson met the criteria of the highest tier reserved for legislators who score 90 percent or above earning him the Award for Conservative Excellence. Jackson earned a 95 percent score.
The group rated lawmakers based on selected bills that focus on Ronald Reagan’s philosophy of the “three-legged stool”: 1) fiscal and economic: taxes, budgets, regulation, spending, healthcare, and property; 2) social and cultural: 2nd amendment, religion, life, welfare, and education; and 3) government integrity: voting, individual liberty, privacy, and transparency.
“I appreciate this recognition,” said Senator Jackson. “I pledge to continue to support state sovereignty, upholding the U.S. Constitution and supporting conservative principles and values in the Tennessee State Senate.”
Senator Jackson is a Republican lawmaker representing Madison, Crockett, Dyer, Lake and Lauderdale Counties in Senate District 27 in the Tennessee General Assembly.
