MONIQUE L. MERRIWEATHER ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR CITY COURT CLERK

Pledges to “BRIDGE” the gap for justice

Jackson, Tennessee – Wednesday February 7, 2018 – Monique L. Merriweather of Jackson, Academic Dean of West Tennessee Business College, former Director of Neighborhood Services with the City of Jackson announces her candidacy for City Court Clerk.

“I am pleased and honored to announce my candidacy for City Court Clerk. My goal as City Court Clerk is to “Bridge the gap for justice” through education, technology, competent and strong leadership. Throughout my 20-year career with the City of Jackson, I have been a motivated leader that has taken the necessary steps to implement programs and initiatives that have been successful in changing lives and bringing unity to the community.”

“Since I left the clerk’s office in 2008, there have been no improvements to operations. The clerk’s office should operate in the 21st century. There are opportunities for technology upgrades and evidence based programs that desperately need to be implemented. That will be my goal on DAY 1. Improving employee morale and customer service to the citizens we serve is imperative to operating a successful clerk’s office. The citizens deserve an accountable, trustworthy, and competent City Court Clerk.”

I ask all the citizens of Jackson, TN for your support, prayers, and your VOTE!

“I look forward to a positive campaign, meeting citizens, and tackling challenges.” Together we can “BRIDGE THE GAP FOR JUSTICE.”
