Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society will meet Tuesday, June 8, at 6:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge at 226 Cotton Grove Road in Jackson. Kimberly Parker will present “Families of Natchez Trace State Park,” the struggle to survive, and how “The New Deal” helped these families to overcome their hardship.
Kimberly is the manager of the Parkers Crossroads Visitor Center. She is very active in the history of the Parkers Crossroads Battlefield and also the history of Natchez Trace State Park. She is a mother and a grandmother, and she just recently became a great-grandmother. She loves history and enjoys researching soldiers that fought in the Civil War and families of the Park.
Anyone interested in genealogy is invited to attend the meeting. Annual membership dues are $20 and include quarterly issues of “Family Findings” with West Tennessee genealogical stories and research tips.
