It's November and the holiday season about to start. So, mark your calendar and save the dates for our Toy Drive, Annual Meeting, Christmas Party, Jewel Awards and other upcoming and exciting events!

Annual Meeting and Christmas Party - Dec. 5
Christmas Party and Toy Drive - Dec. 5th
Join us for the JMCAACC Christmas Party and Toy Drive on Friday, December 5th, 6-9pm at The903, 210 East Lafayette. Admission is $10 and a kids' toy. This is a public event and open to everyone, so come join the fun and the giving. Admission covers food and beverages provided by Lydia Love-Adams and Steve Adams of The903. Toys will be distributed through African American Chamber member churches to needy kids. Again, the Christmas Party is open to everyone. And, we look forward to seeing you there. Attention Members:The Annual Membership Meeting will be held December 5th from 5:00-5:30pm at The903. The agenda includes the annual election of officers. Tickets On Sale Now - Evvie McKinney @ The JEWEL Awards
JMCAACC will present national talent show winner Evvie McKinney in a 40-minute concert at the 19th Annual JEWEL Awards Banquet -- Friday, February 21, 2020 at Oman Arena, 179 Lane Avenue in Jackson, TN. Current sponsors include Entertainment SponsorBlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Diamond Sponsor West Tennessee Healthcare, and radio sponsor Jammin Jackson 97.7 along with supporting member Manufacturers Industrial Group of Lexington.Other sponsorship opportunities are available. Event tickets are $10 and $15 for General Admission and $75 for a VIP dinner ticket. A table of 8 is $600. There are discounts for churches and small businesses. Buy tickets online, by mail or through the JMCAACC office at 351-C North Royal, Jackson, TN 38301. Call the office at 731-424-2030. The awards banquet honors outstanding African American business owners and raises funds for the chamber's Follow Me Into Business® youth development and summer jobs program. The deadline for nomination of contemporary businesses is January 15. To honor your favorite Black business, submit a nomination form. Once a nomination is received, we notify the business owner and request more details. Winners are selected by a panel of judges. Again, submit nominations by January 15th. Awards are presented in four categories: Ruby Award for businesses in operation for 1 to 5 years; Diamond Award for 6 to 10 years; Emerald Award for 11 to 20 years; and the Jewel Award for 20+ years. A Memphis native, Evvie McKinney is the Season 1 winner of THE FOUR: BATTLE FOR STARDOM which aired in February 2018 on FOX Broadcasting Company. She will perform a variety of songs, including those by Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle and Tina Turner. She has several videos on YouTube.com. To see her performance ofProud Mary, click here. Holiday Activities
JMCAACC Christmas Party - December 5 Many thanks to chamber members Steve Adams and Lydia Love-Adams of The903 Jackson for hosting our upcoming JMCAACC Annual Meeting and Christmas Party on December 5th. Remember to bring a toy. Make your plans to attend. The Christmas Party is open to the public. For more information about renting their venue, call 731-234-5612.

Christmas in the City - December 7 Stop by the African American Chamber table at Christmas in the City for kids activities and giveaways as well as to enter a raffle to win general admission tickets to the Jewel Awards on February 21st. Christmas in the City is Saturday, December 7, noon to 4pm at the West Tennessee Farmer's Market, 91 New Market St. in Jackson. Many thanks to coordinator Joel Newman.

Follow Me Golf Classic 2020
Co-Chairs Ted Austin and Dr. Dexter Daviswill head up the Follow Me Celebrity Golf Classic once again. The date for 2020 is Tuesday, September 15, after Labor Day. Hats off to our official Celebrity golfer and football great Ed "Too Tall" Jones, a Jackson native shown here with Tony Black (center) and Derrick Britt (far right).

Congratulations to Jason Moore of Madison County Emergency Management Agency for scoring the first Hole-In-One in the tournament's nine-year history on September 10, 2019 at Bent Tree Golf Course.

This year's tournament also recognized five Faith-based NonProfit Agencies with Celebrity for the Day Awards. They included James Christoferson of Arise 2 Read, Sabrina Blue of Helping Hands of Tennessee, Harold Nance and Dyann Staten ofJonah Affordable Housing Org., Lisa Tillman of Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA) and Gail Gustafson of The Dream Center of Jackson.
