Monroe City Delegates Visit Jackson

Monroe City Delegates Visit Jackson

JACKSON, TN, June 24, 2022  – The Jackson Chamber had the privilege of welcoming delegates from Monroe City, Louisiana for a community visit Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. The community visit included the Mayor of Monroe City, Friday Ellis, as well as other key figures involved in the development of their city.

The two day visit included a tour of Jackson, meetings with central figures and insight into Jackson’s economic development, downtown, arts, education, workforce, and entrepreneurship.“The visit with Mayor Friday and members of his team was very productive. We share the same passion for service to our respective cities,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “I look forward to further discussing ideas with each of our teams in the future.”

The visit allowed Jackson to showcase some of its leading developments and projects from West Tennessee Healthcare to the Jackson Madison County School System and much more. It also highlighted the city’s growth over the years and future expectations for Jackson.

The hope of such visits is that communities are able to gain valuable knowledge and an understanding of what is instrumental in a city’s success; then take these ideas and implement them in their own city. “The Monroe team visited Jackson to learn about what we continue to do to make our community one of the preferred business locations in the South,” said Kyle Spurgeon, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. “We also learned from their team best practices we hope to implement to improve the overall quality of life in Jackson.”
