Grave Marking Ceremony to Honor 1812 Patriot
(Jackson, TN) Please join with the Jackson, Tennessee Tulip Grove Chapter of the United
Daughters of 1812 at 10:30 a.m. at Historic Riverside Cemetery on Wednesday, November 1. At
that time, a grave marker will be placed on the plot of Stokely Donelson Hays.
“Stokely Donelson Hays was one of the early settlers of Jackson, having moved to this area from
Nashville in 1822 along with his wife, children and mother, Jane Donelson Hays, sister of Rachel
Jackson. It is an honor to be able to mark the graves of Stokely, his mother, Jane and sister,
Narcissa Hays”, said Cody Blue Miller, historian.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
Grave Marking Ceremony, Wednesday, November 1 at 10:30 a.m. Historic Riverside Cemetery,
400 Riverside Dr., Jackson, TN 38301.
