Jackson-Madison Chapter DAR Announces March 2018 Media Award Winner
Jackson-Madison Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution [NSDAR] announced the winner of the March 2018 Award for Excellence in Outstanding Broadcast Media at their annual Patriotic Tea held at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson on March 15, 2018.
The Award of Excellence for Outstanding Broadcast Media was presented to Jackson Overstreet. Mr. Overstreet is a multi-media journalist for NBC 39, Jackson and West Tennessee’s newest local news station. He came to Jackson from Pepperdine University where he majored in Journalism and graduated in May of 2017. In the six months he has been in Jackson working for the station, he has helped launch the station, including having the first story to air on WNBJ’s newscast. In his six months he has grown to love the Hub city and interacting with the residents of Jackson.
Jackson-Madison Chapter honors Mr. Overstreet for his professionalism and for his dedication to our community.
DAR is known as the largest women’s patriotic organization in the United States and has over 185,000 members with 3000 chapters in 50 states and 11 foreign countries. DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations. DAR is non-partisan and non-political, and welcomes any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot.
